Reading the Tea Leaves

The Tea baggers all showed resplendent and glowing to the Bachman pretzel event, I found the symbolism stunning; a flag falling when a revered radio talk show host took the mike, and the word "indivisible" left out of that pledge which invokes anger in the hearts of liberals.

Indivisible..., you mean like Serbia and Yugoslavia? Bosnia? the South and the North, what about a nice bombing at Fort Sumter again? maybe this would help to clear up the bad blood in this country

I was especially charmed by the "Dachau" art, some clever conservative came up with an analogous poster depicting the effects of the health care bill; it was both revolting and compelling all at the same time. It's nice to see war declared on the steps of the Capitol, by excel spreadsheet experts, real estate agents, marketing consultants, former bad principals, and of course the nanny herself, Michelle Bachman, Oh what a glorious day for a heretofore insignificant speck of human waste! of course, the channeling of "Sarah, the Fairer one" was not un-noticed.

The maniacial grins of the shirtsleeve ones was also refreshing to see; reminded me of the shirtless young man during the Chicago riots who saluted the news media with a middle finger physical thesis, yes, the high water mark was reached this week, we now have bachman, fox, joe wilson, and other lesser luminaries of the Republican "club" assaulting the sensibilities of the rest of us who are employed.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe, maybe some of these people just don't deserve a job? I mean the people in the crowd? it would appear to me, if their time is spent in creating imaginative posters, or possibly regaling their work colleagues with tales of liberal woe, memories of Reagan and McCarthy, that possibly they were not producing?

I mean, from the looks of the crowd, they are certainly the aging boomers, and we know that generation never really gave a shit about hard work.

So in my view, what transpired this week in Washington, only served to waste time and money, money in the form of traffic control, security, etc., of course, I am sure the street vendors were able to make a buck or two selling good ole American hot dogs to the crowd.

Maybe they too, saved a few bucks, and increased their profits,

See? it is possible to be self sufficient in this country! also you have to do is shill some sludge to a maddening crowd, and sell em animal by products flavored in a subtle way with rat droppings.

Ta Ta!

You left out one little thing. While protesting "government run health care," a number of protesters were treated by that very government run healthcare, one of them's life was saved.

thanks once again.

but at 66 and still working i disagree with your generalization about my generation. indeed the exceptions may have been in the majority. the rich took to press and the press took to the rich during that time while most of us just plodded on.

I speak from authority, ain't all of us, but admit it, this was the "ME" generation; they had it soft, they took it all, and now they're whining, I work in a very high pressure, high tech environment; the only people I see wasting time are the hard core conservatives; lots of debate on the clock about Obama, healthcare, socialism, killing muslims and the rest, One works for me, the work doesn't get done when time is spent "philosphizing" but the competition?

They sure as hell ain't wasting their time, if people want to know what's wrong, they ought to look at themselves first, then point that dirty fingernail at someone else.

I am writing this on my own time, I can, was up at 5:00 working, it's break time for me, and I'm no slouch, carry more than my own weight.

I am very ashamed to be part of this generation, as I find most of them pathetic.

Yes Medicare and VA benefits
by Pace2

both single payer, I wonder if these people really understand what the hell they are protesting? I know members of congress don't have a clue, Michelle Bachman is telling the public this bill would make private insurance "illegal" she ought be drawn and quartered for that. and Inofe of Oklahoma? told the press, he didn't have to read the healthcare bill, he was against it no matter what.

No, i ask you, if you don't read the bill, how can you be against it? Easy!, you're stupid and biased!

Problem solved! now, let's find a nice place for all these stupid and biased people, so they can live a stupid and biased life and die a stupid and biased death, and we'll all live happily ever after.

pretty sure that was the Medicare crowd, not boomers (age 63 and younger). we're still working.

heck, if I was retired and someone gave me a free bus ride to DC, I'd have gone, too.

I don't feel quite as bad as you do about it, but I certainly see your point.

The Baby Boom was handed the keys to a nation that was the greatest economic and moral miracle on earth.

And we squandered it.

Squandered it on the likes of Ronald Reagan and George W, Bush.

Squandered it by substituting financial innovation for technological innovation.

Squandered it by dismatling the very safeguards that kept the middle class secure and properous.

Squandered it by turning our backs on the values we claim to stand for.

you said it Brother man
