Polanski
by louisa22
Talk about selective viewing. Christopher chose to leave key facts out of his piece, facts that change the picture considerably. No mention of the corrupt L.A. legal system. Or the disgraced judge in the case. No mention of why the Swiss are now cooperating? No mention of the fact that the parole board ruled that Polanski should NOT serve more time? Hitchens is at his best when he includes context and at his worst when he has an axe to grind. In this piece he's grinding away.

Shouldn't Polanski return to CA to face the court and let the court decide this case once and for all? If you feel Polanski shouldn't do that because the system is corrupt than shouldn't Polanski had stayed out of any country that has a agreement with the USA? He could of just stayed in France.

I really don't care if Polanski is let go, does 2 days, or is given 4 years, but it would be great to see this case closed once and for all.
