Hot Showers Are More Toxic
by onframe

Somehow trhe discussions on "green" seem to be limited to consumption of resources and little attention is paid to toxicity. We all have seen and read quite a bit about "green" homes and workplaces. The "green" is misleading because it refers to recycled materials or material;s that can later be recycled. But what about the plywood, particleboard, carpet, furniture, fertilizer etc. that offgas fermadehyde virtually forever? Vinyls, urethanes, butyls and a host of other chemicals abound in houses refered to as "green", simply because of the recycle aspect of some of the building materials.
A hot shower does more than waste energy...it exacerbates greatly the amount of toxins ingested by people through their pores, breathing, etc. This is due to increased water vapors and duration of the shower. I would hope that the scientific community would not ignore the toxic element to the "green" movement. Thank you. Bob Van Gunten

I agree. We would probably be safer if we wrapped ourselves with Saran Wrap before taking a shower.

That's your fault. If you live in a recycled house. Where do you live? Where I live we have clean drinking water and no one has died from taking a long hot shower. I feel sorry for ya man. Move out of the third world country, all other illegals do.

How exactly are chemicals that are insoluble in water affected in any way by water vapor?
