I couldn't agree with this more. I can't how many times I had to dodge a moving car while leaglly crossing the road. Yes, I have witness people just walking right out onto the road without looking but I'm talking about legally crossing the road. Everyday I take my 11 month old son out for a walk and almost everyday I have to dodge a car. I think drivers believe that they have the right away regardless how far into a intersection a person is. Just today I was crossing the street when a car made a right onto the street I was crossing. I was about a 1/4 of the way into the intersection when the drive turned right and swung around me. I think he was trying to get pass me before I went further into the intersection. I guess he thought because he was making a right he had the right away even though I was already in the intersection. Either that or he just didn't want to wait the 5 seconds it would have taken me to cross. To make matters worse only parts of my town have sidewalks. Without a dedicated sidewalk I'm forced to directly share the road with drivers.
