Well, in Obama's defense, I could have swore Merkel was the one who was vocal in her resistence to do a European stimulus in the spring(originally, she refrained from Obama mania to her detriment, although she has recently been referred to the black widow in her recent willingness to do away with deficit limits), and I've never really had any reason to think she was much different from Gerhard Shroeder.
There was no new found surge in European military commitment due to Obama, although Brown belatedly sent 500 more recently.
Just anther European politician to me.
He has dissed on Gordon Brown and the British on more than one occassion, and Obama probably doesn't care for Sarkozy either, since he thinks Obama is a punk likewise.
So, this isn't just another Obama screw up, this is symptomatic of the superior international relations that many backers have touted in public.
This was part of the reason they voted for him. Anyone but Bush, and he's black, and he's an indonesian Muslim, and so on.

Obama has been going down, and giving head to Mahmoud Ahmedinjehad, and he has been drinking Hugo Chavez's piss, but has seemed to find ways to piss off his Euro trash buddies, wtf?
He also guzzles copius amounts of Vladimir Putin's urine, only after the Russians first consumed traditional alcoholic beverages, and processed the nectar for Obama's awaiting yap.
Obama does that however for fun, because Putin is Obama's daddy, and so he does that pro bono, and doesn't expect anything in return.
