Resolving the Produce Washing Controversy

Supposedly, the FDA currently dos not recommend using anything besides water for cleaning produce. If so, products like the one described above wouldn't be necessary. However, I believe many oil-based residues are not entirely water-soluble, such as pesticides, waxy preservatives, and oils from the hands of shoppers who search for the most appealing fruits and vegetables.
