H1N1 vaccine and politics
by dfs
I’m sorry to have to disagree with Bondsman. Yes, the shortage of H1N1 vaccine does have to do with government, and it’s potentially a political hot potato. Why? Because a few months ago Obama made one of his typically naive rookie mistakes and assured the American people that the government would make sure there was an adequate supply of vaccine. So he placed his personal prestive behind this effort, and put himself in a position where he could be held personally responsible if it failed to meet its targets. I’m amazed the Republicans and the good people of Fox News haven’t made more political hay out of this than they have. They could say 1.) The vaccine shortage is Obama’s equivalent of Hurricane Katrina. Yes, Bush screwed that up, but at least his mistakes didn’t result in children needlessly dying. Thanks to his incompetence, Obama is killing our kids. 2.) If you think this is a governmental screwup, imagine what would happen if it got its hands on the entire American medical system. Are these specious and wrongheaded arguments? Sure, of course they are. But that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be very hard-hitting and effective.

and as you've said, NO ONE is saying any of that. What's your point? Republicans and Fox News are great guys with more honor than their Democrat and MSNBC counterparts who blamed Bush for absolutely everything under the sun?

My point? Simple. Nobody has said this yet. But they will.
