Guess who’s fat: Surprise-it’s you!
by Hooblublu

If they want to charge more for people being fat, then I have to ask: How fat is fat?

Prior to 1998, a BMI over 25% was considered “overweight” and BMI of 30% was considered “Obese”. Then the CDC (or Center for Deception and Control) decided that a BMI of 27% was now obese.

( According to those numbers half of the National Basketball Association is overweight or obese.)

Overnight, millions of Americans became “obese” and thus the obesity crisis officially began. The fact is, that the average overweight American is 7 to 14 lbs overweight. Unfortunately, that number isn’t “crisisey” enough for the Government.

But, here’s the big question: If the government can redefine obesity at will, what will stop them from lowering the bar and declaring millions more as obese and thus raising their insurance rates?

Sounds like a nice way to get some more money quickly.

Pretty soon we’ll all be fat – hooray for Government!

BMI is a horrible metric

Just becuase someone is a certain weight for their height doesn't mean they are fat. If that was the case, then bodybuilders and professional atheletes would be considered obese. Adrian Petersen, the star RB for the Vikings, might be 6'0" and 225, but i guarantee you that dude is no more than 8 or 10% body fat. That's very different to the libertarian couch potatoes groaning over the Safeway insurance plan.

Body Fat % makes much more sense.
