I thought the movies and literature showed future societies with hover cars and vehicles that drive themselves, etc, because technology had advanced and we could now do better things with our time, maybe. But apparently it was all so we could tweet the deets to 10 million people who shouldn't give a shit, or tweet a link to my facebook that links to an article I read on some kids twitter page, that he linked from a myspace. Oh, and texting. And plain ol chatting on the phone. I hear hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of snippets of cell phone conversations every day. And these are certainly conversations we need the ability to delve more deeply into rather than paying attention to the world.

Wall-E was right. Just not only were we fat lazy and stupid, but we had cell phones glued to our ears and eyes 24 hours a day.
