The writer of this story, Anne Applebaum, should tell her fellow American taxpayers who aren't Jewish why we---black, Latino, Asian, Native American, etc---have to foot the bill for America's military misadventures in the Muslim Middle East, which so conveniently benefits Israel, not to mention why we also have to foot the bill for Israel's existence, itself.

Perhaps Ms. Applebaum is biased. I would hate to think so, given that one of journalism's core values is to be fair and balanced. If so, perhaps she should refrain from writing on this subject. I would prefer, however, that she use her voice to work toward a world where journalists on both sides of these issues have their say in the mainstream media.

Indeed, I would like to see a world in which we all realize that Israel is anathema to Western ideals and in which the West stops funding Israel's atrocities against the Muslim people.
