Noah's dishonesty
by Isernhagen

Noah cites an article (linked as "pediatricians agree") which purports to prove the harmful effects of Baby Einstein-type television on 0-2-year-olds. But if you click the link and read the abstract, it's clear that the study focuses on harmful effects of network television and commercials on the formation of attitudes of children and adolescents towards violence, food, etc. and the harmful effects of substituting television watching for beneficial activities like team sports.

I have no strong opinion about Baby Einstein products, but conflating two such different items is shamefully dishonest. And the gratuitous shot at GWB at the end was utterly classless. Did we seek a "refund" for Carter's presidency after his embrace of John Wayne Gacy?

If you read beyond the abstract, you'd have found this:

"Discourage television viewing for children younger than 2 years, and encourage more interactive activities that will promote proper brain development, such as talking, playing, singing, and reading together"
