Joe is doing fine.
by Woolley
I have extremely good sources to Joe Girardi and the Yankee's. Our good friend is the first base coach for them. I can tell you for certain, those coaches and managers work their tails off preparing for each game and opponent. They watch endless hours of film on every player trying to gain an edge. The players love Girardi and ARod is finally accepting his role as the star player but not the sole player. As a life long Angels fan, it was very hard to root against my Halo's. But, the better team won and I also think Girardi out managed Scioscia. The Yankee coaches work under extreme pressure all season long. As for second guessing decisions, that is what makes following sports fun and also allows sports writers to make a living criticizing or heralding moves made or not made. The Yankee's have had the best team in baseball every year since about 1996. Yet they lose. Sports is ultimately about the player, the opponent and preparation. Joe has the team prepared. Joe has the opponent scouted down to a micro-second. Cashman has the players. Now its up to the players themselves to perform. So far, they have done well but when you are a Yankee, only one thing is expected of you. They will annihilate the Phillies. Yankee's in 5.

Mick Kelleher? That's cool. Hope you get some perks from that!

One way of parsing Marchman's point is to say that this:

Joe has the opponent scouted down to a micro-second

gets in the way of this:

Now its up to the players themselves to perform
