Stop whinning already- at least Sotomayor go through

Every year this thing escalates, many of Bushes judges didn't get through. Also Sotomayor was treated much more fairly than Alito or Roberts by the Dems and Obama himself.

If you want to set an example then maybe the Dems should have been easier on Bush judges. Why is it always the Republicans that are the bad guys when they use the Democrats tactics against them.

Why IS it that the republicans are always the bad guys? You'll have to take that up with Mitch McConnell and the rest of the caucus leadership. Reading your post, for the most part, is like watching a bunch of Mobsters with pinky rings whining about how the government treats them like criminals. No duh?
Not true

Sorry gunsmoke

This is simply factually not true. Gingrich escalated it against Clinton, but against GWB, the Dems backed off and let most of GWB's judges through.

now the GOP is escalating again, despite having been handed a resounding defeat in BOTH the presidential and congressional elections.

What's the basis for this escalation other than sheer visciousness?

Kennedy started this...

Nice try BUT that was what was claimed when Clinton was constrained to nominate Breyer.

And Bork was a wacko under who women and children would have lost their legal status as citizens and gone back to being chattel.

If you can show a SUPREME COURT nominee to be equally extreme then "paying back" is acceptable.

Otherwise its not "payback time" but rather an escalation. And your basis for that escalation is?
