At long last
by NickD
when do you decide it's enough?
Based on past editors
by Gatewood

Arnovitz simply sided with the Ender gang. That was simple enough. If you were not part of that clique then you were automatically wrong. It was unfair but predictable. You knew where you stood.

With Geoff Anderson nobody knew anything because he simply cut, hacked, and sliced at random without ever bothering to find out what was going on. This was bad but it was utterly fair. Like a lightning strike it could happen to anyone. No favoritism.

It will be very interesting to see what – if anything – our current editor does. It’s either annoying as Hades to him to have to stop and burp and diaper adult children or it’s amusing as all get out to do the same. It probably depends on what mood he’s in today and what’s already stacked on his desk for immediate attention. An-ti-ci-pa-a-a-a-tion.

This is just a heads up to let you know that Jeremy just saw fit to remove Daveto's racism top post. Obviously he considered it unreasonably and indefensibly provocative in the extreme. So now you know when it's decided that Enough is Enough.

daveto gone?
by Angel of Dearth

Well, his post certainly is gone. But is daveto banned?

If he's not banned then I guess nothing much has changed. A lousy, sub-standard post was deleted and life goes on. But if dave was banned. . .

If he's banned then Wow! Hats off to Jeremy! Somebody of means and authority has finally seen through that guy's cess pool he calls an "imagination" and has done the right thing. If so, Wow! I'm impressed!

If daveto is banned all I really have to say to him is

Goodbye daveto. Goodbye.

Here's to the next two or three weeks or however long the ban is (indefinite?) free of the swill, the attacks, the insanity that is daveto. He was not "the alternative point of view" he was "the asinine point of view" and Slate is better without him.

I have no idea
by Gatewood

if Jeremy also banned him. That would be appropriate for a long time poster who KNEW the rules of the posting road and so knew that he was blatantly defying them. Daveto was no newbie, in other words.

The problem is that many posters, who should have been around long enough to know better ,endorsed Daveto's revolting top post as satirical humor. They, of course, would have howled in outrage had they been the focus of such 'humorous' posting.

Hypocrisy seems to be an ongoing problem with certain posters.
