I can certainly understand why discussions re menopause may be out of line, however, if you haven't experienced a MAJOR hot flash...cut the lady some slack. Some women have virtually no problems or just minor discomfort but some of us really suffer with this condition. I have been a cold blooded person most of my life and absolutely nothing I have ever experienced prepared me for a really severe hot flash. I will do anything, repeat anything, for relief when a bad one strikes. That said, most of the time there are steps that can be taken for some relief, suggesting she discuss the situation with her Dr. makes sense but sometimes, there is nothing that works at all and it can last for a very long time. I guess it grinds on me to hear a 20 something gripe about something she has no concept of and would be curious to see it she feels the same after she hits this special time of life.
