When I was in high school, our infield was all dirt. Before games and practice, our coach would drag the field with his little Mazda, with a pair of sophomores sitting in the open trunk holding the grader. So be glad you didn't have to endure that.

I would assume that anyone who has that level of groundskeeper job would have gone through o-chem as well. Probably a required course for a horticulture or turf management degree.
