Re: Locked.
by LaurieAnnM

hey,girl..I see I'm starring here again on 'The Fray' page. For what do I owe the honor this time?
Sheesh...sometimes this thread makes me feel like Al Pacino in the Godfather 3 or was it 4 or 5 ?...um, when he said"Just when I thought I was out you pull me back in!" <smile>.

...ah...what did the crazy catcrapper pull this time, friend? I missed it..unless you are referring to her whacky bertrand nic.

just how many nics does she have?
I think lately some if the peripheral posters who always jump in to uprate her posts are her own background poses that she uses to pretend she actually has support for her idiocy on the fray.

anyway...btw did I tell you DallasNE also received an Editor's Pick, the other day?
How cool was that?

and also also I added a missive in more detail about the poetry technical breakdown on the two poems my bro analyzed and posted it on Poems Fray.

Geez PF has been dead of late. 78 posts per week.

What happened over there?
I should post more..seems it needs some new blood and some energy there or something to spark some life back into it.

Take care friend and don't let the silly kitty bother you at all.

best to you.

jeqal:

I have been rereading parts of this thread. It is good. I like reading it especially in light of the Palin hoopla.

The ball of string comment was hillarious.

I have missed everyone and hope for a hollar from someone. Maybe it is an old post but it is one of the only ones whose heading I can remember enough to peak back in.

I answered a thread by greeneggsandham and posited a conspiracy theory where both Presidential candidates are conspiring their own deaths upon election, which will actually give credence to how rabidly the Vice-Presidents are scrutinized. Or should this be called the Vice-Presidential election?

this note from you ,jegal back in Sept. didn't get proper due....it has been a fascinating thread and an arduous election season..

But let's update... where does the country stand now?

Let's see,...hmmmm...well, the Dean/Brazille DNC did in fact disenfranchise some of Hillary's duly elected votes from your home state of Michigan in order to ensure Obama's nomination.

No surprise there.Subsequently,Dean has tendered his resignation from the DNC. No surprise there ,as well.

McCain was just barely squeaking past Obama in the polls when the Stock Market Disaster hit in Sept., on Bush's watch, thus totally insuring a democratic win for Obama win and a sudden and irrevocable free fall for McCain.

The Obama media therefore really didn't need to go so nuclear on little Sarah Palin but their blood lust was jus so intense they couldn't contain themselves.Oh, that was fun for the democrats and SNL.

..Obama won 28 states and held a party in Chicago the likes of which we've never seen, replete with Jesse ,the guy famous now for saying,"I would like to cut off his(Obama's) nuts", Jackson crying crocodile tears at his Victory Party in the Chicago park.

Oh what a celebration!!...it moved even my Hillary loving heart...the happiness at the win of the first black president. That point did do my heart good. It actually honestly did.

...and Obama finally did appoint Hillary to the third highest position next to him and the VP as Sect of State. So, that was great news!

So, our Hillary seems to have played herself a pretty good hand, at the end of the day,and her hard fought campaign paid off for her nicely.

Now, here we are with the Market Crash and bail-outs and the continuing escalating problems in the Middle East increasing each day...so,Obama will have his work cut out for him.And needs the country's backing and support to be sure.

...And then there's that and the sticky little issue of the hornet's nest of corruption coming out of Obama's home state involving the Illinois Governor being accused by Federal Prosecutors of trying to sell Mr Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder......now that was a total surprise,eh?...I mean who would have ever thunk there was gambling going on at Rick's Casino, for goodness sakes?!

Suspicions are even among Obama's supporters that it was Obama's old business partner, Tony Resko ,already convicted and serving time for bribery and bad loan deals, who may well have blown the whistle on Illinois Gov.Blagojevich, the Obama seat seller.and of course Jesse Jackson Jr.'s claim that he's been snitching to the Feds on Blago for a decade even as he was apparently trying to garner Obama's old seat by hook or by crook, aside..seems to lend a bit of a comical edge to the entire sordid drama.

..as they say in the flicks, stay tuned.......

Love revisiting this thread and seeing how it all turned out. Yeah Hill has done well for herself. The production of money in DC should add quite a few jobs to our nation. I hear that a few online university's are giving degrees in it now.

Recent query: re: "Hillary can't win" & HRC now.
by SpeakerNancy

Hi Laurie,

Am wondering what you think of HRC's performance, to date, as Secretary of State? Maybe you could start a new Top Post on the topic & see if you get such a similarly massive response this time?

:-)

As for your comment the other day that WJClinton is still "a dog," first off, I disagree. Second, have you seen the excellent article on him in last week's Sunday New York Times Magazine?
If not, it's worth looking up. "Cheers," SN

Well howdy, old friend! ;-)

I know Poor Bill I so stood up for him when he went through the Ken Starr witch hunts back then but since then at times I do sometimes think to myself..Good lord! What Hillary has had to put up with with his skirt chasing. But, he's got his good points! Absolutely!

As to the Times article. No haven't had a chance to read that. I bet it was worthwhile to read though. You always find good articles from the NY Times I've noticed.

Ha..I see you post below..does that mean this is post # 444 now? Amazing!
I get the the reference.

Very Cute!

:-)

Re: Recent query: re: HRC now.
by SpeakerNancy

Hi back,

So I am still wondering -- what do you make of HRC's performance as Secretary of State, so far?

I didn't ask about his 'skirt chasing," Laurie. It was a minor episode & is only still even remembered because Leno & Letterman are so desperate for material (and so unimaginative) that they keep revisiting it. (Sign of their performance weakness, imho). If it hadn't had been for the absolutely insanely vindictive (and hypocritical-- think Henry Hyde of Illinois) Republicans pursuing an unrealistic and unsupportable impeachment effort, very few people would even remember WJC's skirt chasing. "imho, of course." Far more important, to me & to history in the long run, of course, are his performance & achievements/accomplishments as our POTUS.

Thanks for your reply, # 445?

SN/t.

I had an argument with you under a different name.
Re: When you jumped the shark for me

These threads are so long..I can't tell if you posted that to daveto or smutty..but how come you don't tell them this in a more accessible post?
There is a certain group that gets awfully upset when this post is brought back up to the MBTU.

But I don't mind.

~LAM

The answer to your question:
by the ghost of a-z

It was already at the top of MBTUs (I assume someone just posted to it before I did) and so was a very accessible post at that time.
