I have been rereading parts of this thread. It is good. I like reading it especially in light of the Palin hoopla.
The ball of string comment was hillarious.
I have missed everyone and hope for a hollar from someone. Maybe it is an old post but it is one of the only ones whose heading I can remember enough to peak back in.
I answered a thread by greeneggsandham and posited a conspiracy theory where both Presidential candidates are conspiring their own deaths upon election, which will actually give credence to how rabidly the Vice-Presidents are scrutinized. Or should this be called the Vice-Presidential election?
this note from you ,jegal back in Sept. didn't get proper due....it has been a fascinating thread and an arduous election season..
But let's update... where does the country stand now?
Let's see,...hmmmm...well, the Dean/Brazille DNC did in fact disenfranchise some of Hillary's duly elected votes from your home state of Michigan in order to ensure Obama's nomination.
No surprise there.Subsequently,Dean has tendered his resignation from the DNC. No surprise there ,as well.
McCain was just barely squeaking past Obama in the polls when the Stock Market Disaster hit in Sept., on Bush's watch, thus totally insuring a democratic win for Obama win and a sudden and irrevocable free fall for McCain.
The Obama media therefore really didn't need to go so nuclear on little Sarah Palin but their blood lust was jus so intense they couldn't contain themselves.Oh, that was fun for the democrats and SNL.
..Obama won 28 states and held a party in Chicago the likes of which we've never seen, replete with Jesse ,the guy famous now for saying,"I would like to cut off his(Obama's) nuts", Jackson crying crocodile tears at his Victory Party in the Chicago park.
Oh what a celebration!!...it moved even my Hillary loving heart...the happiness at the win of the first black president. That point did do my heart good. It actually honestly did.
...and Obama finally did appoint Hillary to the third highest position next to him and the VP as Sect of State. So, that was great news!
So, our Hillary seems to have played herself a pretty good hand, at the end of the day,and her hard fought campaign paid off for her nicely.
Now, here we are with the Market Crash and bail-outs and the continuing escalating problems in the Middle East increasing each day...so,Obama will have his work cut out for him.And needs the country's backing and support to be sure.
...And then there's that and the sticky little issue of the hornet's nest of corruption coming out of Obama's home state involving the Illinois Governor being accused by Federal Prosecutors of trying to sell Mr Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder......now that was a total surprise,eh?...I mean who would have ever thunk there was gambling going on at Rick's Casino, for goodness sakes?!
Suspicions are even among Obama's supporters that it was Obama's old business partner, Tony Resko ,already convicted and serving time for bribery and bad loan deals, who may well have blown the whistle on Illinois Gov.Blagojevich, the Obama seat seller.and of course Jesse Jackson Jr.'s claim that he's been snitching to the Feds on Blago for a decade even as he was apparently trying to garner Obama's old seat by hook or by crook, aside..seems to lend a bit of a comical edge to the entire sordid drama.
..as they say in the flicks, stay tuned.......
