Once,
by SpeakerNancy
you skank. Compared to your what? 11? 20? usages of mine, so far. Who needs to learn a little self-control? You poor sap. (Look in the mirror, M.R. Underhanded yourself.)
Thanks.

I don't get it. But I see it. But I still don't get why the rancor at you.

When I looked it up here is what I saw:

rancor |ˈra ng kər| ( Brit. rancour)
noun
bitterness or resentfulness, esp. when long-standing : she spoke to him in words filled with rancor

Hi, Diane!

A great post? All you did was write your normal Geezer-obsessed post, then go through and put "istan" after every third word. If that's your idea of well-written and clever, well, it's no wonder that you've killed BOTF.
next look up stalking. you'll find the picture of a pasty

faced woman with a big hairdo.

There's also this:

you'll notice in that same subthread she refers to tartuffe

That's what I was pointing out.
by Your Stupid
I believe she's quite insane, even by Fray standards. Poor, crazy, crazy Diane.
Oh. hahaha. I thought you were pointing out
by MichaelRyerson
the geezer-obsessive reply of her's just above wherein she goes on (for the thousandth time) about those mean elitists who didn't invite her to the big dance. you're right she needs professional help.
Then pose as the superb Lara Logan! Ultimate sacrilege! eom

Schmutzie's "Lt. Keefer" masterstroke has evolved of late,
by Inkberrow

methinks, perhaps the natural progression of some shameful self-awareness seeping through the protective affect-shields. But we needn't leave The Caine Mutiny trope altogether. As I see the Toad here, there, and everywhere, frenetically accusing and upbraiding everything that moves, in her view with her own "reputation" at stake, I recall Bogie as Captain Queeg on the stand answering Greenwald's questions about his leadership decisions, and his staff. Another previously-praised-by-Queeg officer is cited, in the form of an innocuous statement in effect countering Queeg's version of reality on an innocuous subject, the missing strawberries.

Queeg breaks out the worry beads and frets, "Oh, him! Yes, like all of the officers, he was against me from the start." Lieutenant MeridianToo comes to mind, among others.....

goddamn it. I love schmutzie like a brother but...

I am the author of tempo as keefer. lam as queeg, tempo as keefer. well, maybe as a brother-in-law.
didn't I?
by MichaelRyerson
I'm sorry, maybe it was you after all. I guess I don't
by Inkberrow

recall for sure. I know Honest Ellen brought up Queeg in my old "Fraycentric Spam" mega-thread (how could I know then how existential and intensely personal was her "rhetorical" question to me, "Who made YOU the hall monitor??").

Because she misused the reference in a way which demonstrated not only her estrangement from classic books but from rudimentary thematic comprehension of themes in films based upon classic books, we riffed from there, but not to the point of casting the Toad as Keefer. It came up again shortly thereafter--this spring?---with Iso and you and Schmutzie on another megathread in or about one of LAM's toxic meltdowns, where the formal casting occurred, precisely because the Toad, like Keefer, had instigated LAM, then hung her out to dry. Okay, I'm remembering now. It was you, M.R.! Several of us were on it right away, so I morphed it. I wanted to take credit myself.

Meanwhile Honest Ellen was figuring out that even though her "friends" had grievously betrayed her, especially LAM, she, just like these same fair-weather friends, formed her identity and sense of self-worth by reference to despised enemies and hated rivals, not trusted friends and respected colleagues. Hence, the transitional groundwork was laid once again for today's mutual fulminations.

Don't know if I said it first here, or if I saw you use it and picked up on it, or if it was a spontaneous thing, but it sure as shit fits.

Biggest pot stirrer I've ever seen.

Discord jones, and man does this tag cloud speak volumes too.

Oh brother.

Or, brother-in law.

Kinda fond of you too Mike.

She's actually done that many times. Gives her some sick
by tartuffe

self-delusion of "discernment" or "power" or, um, sumthin', apparently.

Oh, did I say "many"? Make that many, many, many (boy, there's a cautionary stroll down Memory Lane!).

Not that I ever gave a shit ("consider the source"), but yeah, between these and the other examples noted in this thread, the level of hypocrisy is stunning, indeed . . . stunning, that is, until you stop and . . . consider the source!
