I'll hazard a guess and say the same way

That was one of the possibilities I offered in my top post. The difference is that Canada lives next to an 80,000 pound gorilla and Canadians are probably very aware that 7/4 is US independence day, whereas the US lives next to a 110 lb. polite gentleman with good health care coverage, which we're aware of, but most Americans probably don't know what date Canada Day falls on or even that there is a holiday called Canada Day.

I'd wager that more of USers are aware of Cinco de Mayo than of Canada Day.

Canada is the right arm of that 80,000 gorilla

We, the United States of America have Military Treaties with Canada above what any other Nation on Earth has.

You want good healthcare coverage? Join the United States Military, serve good time and you will have good coverage until the day you die, much better than the care in Canada.

Back to the Military, one of the reasons that Canada (along with all other Nations who have Socialized Healthcare) can offer such up is they do not spend on their Military like the United States does, and, they do not have a Department of Veterans Affairs to take care of their Veterans like the United States does.

The VA alone burns through some 75 Billion a year, the Military burns through some 700 Billion. while Canada only spends some 20 Billion a year on her Military.

But, Canada puts out some 200 Billion a Year on Healthcare, to cover some 33 Million people.

England has nearly 61 Million People, and goes through some 120 Billion Pounds a year, now, England is small, so, they would not need as many Hospitals and Staff spread out like in Canada and the US.

The United States of America has 300 Million people, and spends some 410 Billion on Medicare alone. Then there is Medicaid, which is a State and Federal Program, the Federal end is some 180 Billion a year. thats nearly 600 Billion a year from the Federal Government just in Medicare and Medicaid. We do have a lot of people though, a lot more than England and Canada put together, so, we need about 2 Trillion a Year to cover every Citizen with a National Healthcare Plan.

The 600 Billion already spent + the 700 Billion that the Military gets would still be a 700 Billion a year shortfall.

I left the VA Money out because much of that Money is paid to Veterans for Combat Wounds, and as for the nice Hospitals we run across the Nation, well, Veterans should never have to give up a Benefit, wouldn't you agree?

Which Nation will put Money out for a bigger Military, to take over the US Role of being the Worlds (Free World) 911 Service? Canada? England? France?

Someone will need to step up to the plate, or we will be destroyed.

I noticed that President Obama burned through some One Trillion Dollars on the stimulus package. You know what he should have done with the Money, if he really cared about Healthcare?

He should have built and equiped 1000 new, and very large, Hospitals in the Nation, with Roads and Bridges going to and from them, with nice Parking Decks, and nice Parking Lots, and Doctors Offices for regular Visits.

Did President Obama do any of that?

Just how much does he care about it, if he did not?
