This is a political dilemma for SC Republicans. They would like nothing more than to have Governor Sanford quietly disappear into the sunset and be forgotten. The Governor is not likely to cooperate.

Ah, but it's more dilemmatic than even that. Some don't want him to leave because it would elevate the Lt. Gov to Gov and give him (Lt. Gov) the advantage of incumbency if he decided to run.
