Genedio: I found [Carlin] to be two parts incisive social commentator to one part vulgarian...The later incisive Carlin appeared to me more a social critic along the lines of Jonathan Swift than a comedian who tells jokes.
LeRoy: I quite agree. I liked the social commentator aspect of his persona and disliked the vulgarian part. I don't think he quite rose to the level of a Jonathan Swift, but he seemed to be headed in that direction toward the end of his life...
