not earth shattering comment, but they're much better. he's turned the zaniness down a few notches and has now entered convivial territory - reminding rolling stone about the hottie and the nottie, not to mention battlefield earth, was a good close. he should feel free to call out reviews that are well off beam. some of the reviews for transformers are insanely vitriolic- to the point where, perversely, I just have to see the thing.. if only to find out where i fall on the hate curve.

To each his own but I like the zaniness - when he did the robot dance to close out the terminator piece, I laughed out loud. Nothing wrong with Slate loosening up and trying to be silly - there's enough staid and stoic - this piece can be silly. I also just love the piece itself - Summary Judgment is my favorite - in 3 minutes you get a good, clear digest of what the reviews are.
