Re: Interesting

bertrand, I am not LaurieannM and I am not drunk. I am just an interested US politics observer who tries to express some of my views.

You are too wrapped up in this nomination process and lost all perspectives. You only want to see what you want to see and to hear what you want to hear. I just want to point out, if Obama comes out of the Deven convention with the Party not united, that will spell trouble. It is up to Obama to unite the Party, do not blame Hillary or anyone else.

The fact that this thread is still alive means that Obama’s nomination is not a certainty.

LOL. That's where you're wrong. No one cares if the tired old hags who support Hillary don't vote for Obama. Most of them will never make it to the polling places anyway because they won't be able to see over their dashboards. The ones who can see over their dashboards will get lost. The rest will be at home looking after their overweight cats and chasing youngsters off their lawns.

manfromv. I saw your postings but hesitated to answer as this thread is so old now and should really be sent to the ether...as you can see I have some very way out there obsessive types who follow me around at every turn and this post that had such a long shelf life and so many wonderful discussions seems to literally drive them to severe distraction and intense pain. I am sorry for them for that I truly am..I don't know it's that they are mainly anti Hillary as many of them are Obamaites..or in the case of bertrand..it is likely another problem known only to her and her inner self..if at all...that said..sorry you were unfairly attacked and accused by her(at least my friends and I think we know it's a 'her')...but your posts deserves a reply as it had some very good points.

It is true that DNC Convention really is showing the earmarks of perhpas ending in a bad way with the party not united at all.

I liked your ideas...Obama could play hardball..that I think would be his best bet. He needs to show real strength and leadership ..so if I were him I would go for broke and go that route as you suggested as a possibility...Hillary as VP..is another good thought. As for me..I would prefer she didn't run with him. The bitter feelings and the bitterness between the two camps are still just far too raw ..I can't see it working at this point. I think the Obama fans many of who are avowed Hillary haters wouldn't like it, for one thing..and as Hillarys supporter, I would hate to see her be subjected to more of their viciousness.

It's more than enough I think that she did so well and she will do the best she can to support him for President and then take her seat, proudly, as she should in the senate.

I suspect, sadly, it is too late to heal all the various wounds of this very bitter primary season, at this late juncture in the elction season. at least for this go round... and therefore McCain amy well end up President.

Perhaps HRC will run in 2012, perhaps not. at any rate..she gave it a good try and she should be very proud of her 18 million votes.

Not bad at all.

Thanks again for your input on this very fascinating thread.appreciate it.

I saw you posting a bit on BOTF, the other day..nice to meet you and see you around the frays.

Re: Interesting

Hi LAM, this thread is old chronologically, but the question it asks is still current. Mathematically, Hillary can still win, even though the probability is small. All we need is for 150 supper delegates to switch their support from Obama to Hillary. The game is not over until the lady sings.

One can judge the characters of Obama by his supporters. They are fanatical, to the point of irrational. Even though they are winners, but they are ungraceful towards Hillary’s supporters. Instead of telling us why Obama is good enough to be the President, they vent their anger at Hillary for the most ridiculous reasons. Their discussions are completely devoid of substance. This is also true in their posts in HuffingtonPost, full of invectives and venom. I guess this explains why Obama has problem of reconciling with Hillary’s supporters. Today, Howard Finemen in Newsweek, strongly urges Obama to make a compromising gesture towards B. Clinton to ask for his support. Mr. Finemen implies that Obama has a hard time getting himself doing it. This gives me a feeling that Obama will not be a good person to be the President of USA.

Too bad for the Democratic Party, which should win this election hands down with all the favourable historical background. I still think Hillary is a better person who has a better shot of beating McCain. I still think this nomination is not final until it is made official at the convention.

Bullshit!

I am an Obama supporter myself, but your description of Hillary's supporters does not remotely square with those I know.

Besides, I take personal affront to women younger than I am being called old hags!

You're right, I neglected to mention the purple hair and the predilection for early bird specials. That's what you meant, right?
LaurieAnn, please do not nest your drivel.

Never mind what the saynayers say---it's the bestest drivel ever. You're a crucial member of BOTF's Best and Brightest. Take my car, lawdy mama, and drivel me crazy!

This thread will NEVER fucking die!

It's like the zombie from a bad B-flick...it just keeps getting up again.

I'm sorry, Lono---Schmutzie gave me the idea

after his post-dated censure of the latest Lauriespam excesses hit my MBTU tonight.

Meanwhile, relax and take your well-earned place among the Immortals. Your name will forever be associated with the World's Largest Ball of String just as that otherwise-forgotten Italian beauty will forever be "Mona Lisa" thanks to a different Master. Even DaVinci's toenail clippings are worth a pretty penny.....

Re: Schmutzie, eh?

I shoulda known.

And please note, my name is not only associated with this ball of string, it was my math that actually inspired the toppost. Sorrier I could not be.

I have been rereading parts of this thread. It is good. I like reading it especially in light of the Palin hoopla.

The ball of string comment was hillarious.

I have missed everyone and hope for a hollar from someone. Maybe it is an old post but it is one of the only ones whose heading I can remember enough to peak back in.

I answered a thread by greeneggsandham and posited a conspiracy theory where both Presidential candidates are conspiring their own deaths upon election, which will actually give credence to how rabidly the Vice-Presidents are scrutinized. Or should this be called the Vice-Presidential election?

Oh hi. You've been missed too although I did see you posting a little bit a couple weeks ago. Oh shit! I just sent out a bunch of pics of my new grandson to several fraysters(I'll forward the pic now)..I should have linked those emails to you as well. Heard back from Lilliane after i sent the Grandson pics... You don't know her but she's a real oldie but goodie /slash baddie we love her... and she's a bag of chips to boot. She is doing great and expressed her apologies for not being around more.

As for you..you're the bomb..as in great, jegal ..it's been great getting to meet and know you a bit..please do post now and then ..you have that added bit of real sardonic and dry wit that is always so appealing and unique.

And yes..this has been and is one massive ball of string. I had another great post that got and ed's pick as well on Hillary and gender ..it recd. thousands of hits too but this one takes the cake!

Best to you, and stay in touch!

My gawd C-N, but you are obsessive. I see someone has created a doppelganger Fraynick for you -- katydoo. Very funny. My hat is off to whoever that is.

Cheers, Cattylin.
