Applying the same credibility/self-awareness vector, that puts the Toad at about 96% Topical/Substantive posts (not including gratuitous, throw-off topical responses on e.g., healthcare, which typically end with "O.T. didja see what the Geezers did today?").

What a credit to Slate and the Fray, those trenchant, detailed commentaries the Toad provides on the American political, social, and cultural scene. It's a wonder she isn't paid for them, even aside from her battery of original, award-winning poetical triumphs, authored and published as "Contempo of Heartstorm Press" and "Heartstorm Press Online". BTW .. there are many truly obscure, out of the way boards listed in Slate's directory that MR could have used, no one would dream of bothering posters who sincerely choose honest obscurity, but SHAMEFUL CONDUCT isn't one of them, never has been. Agree totally with everything you've said in this post & yes, the New BOTF has been quite peaceful and rather delightful and fun. Several of our Liberal-Dem colleagues have stuck with it, so you & I don't have to feel politically isolated. And as always, the diversity of opinion on The New BOTF is healthy and rather enjoyable.

As to this bogus 'competition' that Poor Mikey has decide to start up, one has to pity AlanRyersonMichaelSmithee/yell­owpolicetape/eom/littlemo/katy­dont et al .. et al ... et al. Anyone who can live with himself after behaving in this fully "slimy" (Stinky's favorite adjective, no?) manner must be a very sad, and rather lonely, person. Actually, he's his own Clicque! I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for BOTF and curse Shameful Conduct; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that BOTF's death, while tragic, probably saved lives and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like knives. scalpels, blunt instruments. We use them as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a toad who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.
