Re: Republicans must (attempt to) win elections.
by Cusano18
  1. Google to confirm (from the top of my head):
  2. Obama won the wealthy vote, but that was unusual. Wealthier people and business owners generally vote Republican.
  3. If only whites or men voted, Replicas would win every modern presidential race. The most common democrat demographic is an unmarried, uneducated, unskilled black woman.
  4. White man generally vote republican -60%
  5. White women vote republican - 55%
  6. Blacks voted 95% Obama, which is not unusual.
  7. Latinos - 60% -Democrat moved to 80% for Obama.
  8. Asians switched from a small republican majority, 52%, towards Obama 65%.
  9. Obama’s racial politics are pushing whites and Asian’s back to the right.
  10. Whites and independents have already abandoned Obama; Asians are next. Asian business owners have already abandoned Obama, and will not return.
  11. As Latinos assimilate, especially Cubans, they become more conservative. Married women move right as well.
  12. Single, gay, ethnic, and atheist are the democrat staple. Bas trend republican. Graduate degrees trend democrat because most are in education, which relies on taxation. Academia vote socialist to get money for themselves.

Oppose Obama: Older rich married white male church goers with a BA.

Support Obama: Younger coast dwelling unmarried black females "nature worshiping" welfare recipient.

And please tell me how under the Constitution that you supposedly revere that you're going to get rid of all the blacks, the gays, the atheists and the hispanics and asians who don't vote your way? Not to mention all the white working people of all income levels who vote Democratic? What about the Jews who voted 78% for Obama? Exactly how do you propose to bring this country back to the 'white' ways you expouse?

The fact is, the country is changing. And unless you want to start a shooting war, there's not much you can do about it.

And that's how you divide the country? There are a lot more people around than you think, with a lot more variety.

It is not me who is creating the racial divide, it is Obama. I just gave demographics and rationales for voting patterns.

I advocate for a multicultural diverse country (increasing skilled educated immigration)where everyone enjoys the benefits of minimal government, the free market, and unalienable civil rights without exceptions and bias. Moreover I oppose all bigotry, including anti-Semitism, anti white male and anti-religious bigotry.

So you want to get rid of Obama? I don't see how he's creating a racial divide. The only thing that he appears to be doing that's racial in any way is governing while being black.

The fact is, your gibberish about Democrats is an old and stale hallucination. It goes back at least to FDR. The same crap was said about every Democratic president since FDR, it just wasn't given any credence in the media. And that's because it never deserved any credence.

In fact business has prospered more under Democrats than under Republicans. As Harry Truman said, if you want to live like a Republican, vote like a Democrat. And history backs him up. And there's nothing different about Obama.

Correlation is not causation. Government versus democrat congresses also influences economies. For example, Clinton’s success happened because republicans forced him to spend less and balance the budget. Perhaps republican minorities are better working in opposition to big government democrat majority?

Obama is different. He is a leftwing radical that is actively dismantling our market economy. FDR was horrible too, but then again so were Nixon and W. because they increased spending as republicans in fiscally conservative clothes

Philidor:
Instead, look at it from the standpoint of advantage/disadvantage. From that angle, aren't Republicans now doing the right things?

No, the lunatic fringe has taken over the GOP. There is no politician with the standing to put Rush Limbaugh back in his place. The Republican party has lost control of its message.

The shifting lines on Medicare illustrate their problem. RNC chairman Steele decided to present the GOP as the defender of Medicare in order to curry favor with seniors during the health care debate. But the GOP is not credible in this role given their party's consistent opposition to the program, as leading Republican politicians reminded Steele.

Eruptions of glee regarding Obama's failure to cinch the Olympics for Chicago, self contradictory stands on Medicare show a party that can't refrain from making cheap political points even if it hurts them in the long run.

remember Republicans holding up copies of their bills to reform the medical system?

That was an 11-page "bill." You can't write a health plan in 11 pages, the House bill was over a thousand. The Republicans wrote a wish list and presented it as their "alternative." It doesn't do much but make health insurance payments deductible, and for most of the uninsured, this would not come near to covering the premiums. People with pre-existing conditions could join a "high risk" pool, but how this would be paid for is extremely vague.

If the Democrats were satisfied with making the Republicans look like idiots, they could pass the damn thing and let them try to explain to people why they still can't get health insurance. . . but it would be better to pass a REAL health plan and leave the Republicans to scream about "death panels" and other fairy tales, which are already making them look like idiots.
