Biden cried
by SPADO
But I don't hold it against him. Would you be the same way if Palin had cried. The sexism of the MSM has been beyond pathetic in this race. I am overjoyed that Palin came through in the clutch. I had seen her performances in previous debates and knew she was certainly capable. I truly hope to see more such debates with her and Biden, or her and Obama! Palin is the best female candidate I have ever seen. She is presidential.

When the bar is set at "Please don't make a fool of yourself", then yes, she did great! Presidential? Are you kidding? I found her so fake it's unreal. Biden ate her lunch when it came to concrete answers and a command of policy. She did the usual: sound bites and not answering the questions - because she doesn't know or she would. Bush is great with that also. Don't be mistaken, this ticket is four more years and someone who wants to expand the VP powers EVEN MORE.

Just how is she such a great candidate? Because she tries to appeal to your folksy style? Is THAT what makes a candidate great? Are you high? Do you have a brain?

AND I'm a WOMAN who believes in females having equal opportunities......Palin sets us back a generation.

You are frankly nuts. She was as articulate as anyone I have EVER seen in a debate. This was not an issue of a low bar. She was as outstanding as Reagan during his winning performance moment. She made me look forward to seeing more of her. There is not one thing i would have changed. She is obviously the most underestimated candidate imaginable and this is due in a great part to flat ot media sexism and dismissal of the state of Alaska as hick. Just think how her opponents in the governor's race must feel when people call her an idiot. That would mean they are super idiots, right. That must be why her former oppenents are actually supporting her strongly in this race. They knew what she was made of. It is the fools of the left who set this bar so low.

It breaks my heart to read stuff like this.
Was Sarah articulate?
Sure- the points she shared were (whether I agreed with them or not) well said.
Do I think they were HER points?
No. She was continually briefed by a panel on every major position that could have possibly come up. Yes, I'm realistic that every candidate is briefed, no one wants their guy (or gal) to look like a fool and doom their party. However, based on the very few interviews (her party's choice) that Sarah has done, she just doesn't have a grasp of these topics. This doesn't mean that she's not articulate, or intelligent, or charming- it just means she didn't pay attention to these topics before she was picked for the VP nod. I think Sarah would be a wonderful broadcaster as long as she read off a tele-prompter or memorized her speech beforehand. I really don't mean that cruelly, it was what her ambition was for many years and her practice has paid off.
Does this make her a good leader? No. Being able to speak clearly and memorize talking points does not mean that you are qualified for one of the most important positions in this country.
Do I think Palin would make a good leader? Well, no. When she came into office in 2000, Wasilla had ZERO debt, when she left in 2 years later- Wasilla had 20 MILLION DOLLARS worth of debt. This doesn't instill confidence in me.
She claims to be against earmarks. Again, when she was mayor of Wasilla, she hired a lobbyist and secured 27 MILLION DOLLARS worth of earmarks. In 2002 alone, Wasilla got 6.1 MILLION DOLLARS IN EARMARKS, for a population of about 6,700. Boise, Idaho has a population of about 190,000 and received 6.9 Million in earmarks.
Ok, how about the infamous, "thanks but no thanks" on the bridge to nowhere (not to insult the residents of Gravina Island). I'm sure you're aware of this, but I'll recap. Sarah Palin was for it (at an earmark cost of $223 Million) and secured it in 2005. This became a national issue and pissed a lot of people off, including McCain, so, after it became an issue, Congress removed the earmark designation (not Palin- Congress) and....still gave Alaska the 223 Million....which Sarah Palin accepted. If she was really against spending and earmarks, she would have given it back...she didn't.
Ok, I'm getting off topic.
Right, debate.
So, again, was she well spoken- yes. Did she answer questions- some. But, mostly, when she didn't like a question, she would just say something to the effect of "well, I'm going to go back and talk about xyz". She would avoid answering questions she didn't want to, couldn't, or hadn't been briefed on.
And, I'm sure you've read this a million places too now- read the transcripts about her answer about the VP's control and you'll reach the same conclusion I did-
She still doesn't know what a Vice President does.

Biden's moment of emotion was about as believeable as Hillary's little moment in New England was.

God Hilliary well's up and its used against her and its a political ploy. Biden wells up and its touching. How hypocritical thou art. Biden articulate, hell he's been srewing his speeches for years and even with that he gaffed. He didn't correctly state the role of vice-president, said Iran would not have nuclear capailities soon but he can make gaffes and the main street media gives him a pass . If it was the other way around it would have been headlines. The media is sexist and some of these so-called female "journalist" are the worst.
