YAAAHOOOOO!!
by SPADO
The girl kicked ASS! Emily, do you feel better now? She is redeemed. All women can breathe easier now and relax and enjoy the show. SNL skits? Wiped the collective smile off the mockers faces. I am in HEAVEN.

She kicked ass because the bar was set at "Don't make a total fool of yourself." How would you feel if you asked a member of congress/exec branch a question and they said: I'm not going to answer your question,
Re: YAAAHOOOOO!!

The bar was set low by the idiots in the liberal press. is it possible that the McCain campaign played you all? That would be truly Machievellian. Didn't Mchiavelli advise the prince to hunt? Hmmmmmm, be afraid. Be very afraid.

When you have top conservatives asking for her to quit the ticket, it hardly qualifies as "liberal press", let's not forget it the same press that gave W such a pass as to get us into this mess.

You are too much a blind fool for me to even address you anymore. Please get back to me when you sprout a brain.

You people who have been calling her an idiot and worse for weeks seem to forget that she won the Governorship in Alaska after a hard fought race which included about a dozen debates. How do you think her opponents feel hearing her described in this way when she beat them? They must be super idiots, right. Just like everyone in Alaska must be trailer trash meth smoking idiots, right? Isn't that the way the thinking went? Really, who was foolish enough to set this bar so low. Did you not bother to do some research into her past performances? Dang, just a little would have cushioned the blow. Now its spin spin spin when it could have been chill . Good night.

Spado,
I guess I should just ask- (and while typing does not lend itself to emotion- ergo emoticons- keep in mind, I'm not asking this with an aggressive stance)- What specifically do you like about Sarah Palin? Do you specifically like her plan for health care/reform? If so, what do you like about it? Her policy in Iraq? What does she say that makes you say "Yes! I support that!"?
What substantiative topics can we discuss about Sarah Palin?

I don't know what Spado has to say, but I like Palin because she is a strong, conservative voice for women and men alike. She's successful and hasn't sold out HER views to become something she's not; like a feminist. She's proven she can still be a powerful woman and have a family at the same time. She should be an example for all married working women....at least to some degree; not matter how you feel about her political affiliation. She's a family woman, and supports family ideals. And when it comes to her "policies", isn't that more of a question about the president?

Anyway, I'm glad that an African-American has nominated as a presidential candidate and I'm glad that a woman has been nominated as a VP candidate. How great is all this?

I hear you, but I'm not really sure that differentiates her from anyone else. All of the candidates spout family values- they seem to live to their word to varying degrees- including Palin. So, that aside, she is powerful and does have a family- but that family seems to be in a lot of struggle- pregnant daughter aside, photos of soon to be husband of pregnant daughter binge drinking aside, mother in law not necessarily voting for her aside (although let's chalk that up to a difference in politics), troopergate aside, etc. I don't really think she's a great example of a married working woman. She didn't seem to do that great of a job- gender and family aside. She left Wasilla heavily in debt and hardly showed up when she was governor.
And yes, I do think her policies matter, not to join in on the "heartbeat away" cliche, if McCain were to be assassinated, she would be president and since she stated in the VP debate that if she became president, she wouldn't necessarily follow McCain's policies, her policies matter quite a bit. Again, all that aside, I would love it if Palin had come out hitting home runs- even if I disagreed with her policies, I would find that wonderful. She didn't do that. She didn't seem to be well versed on the issues, then she seemed really coached. I don't think she would have been able to stand up to any questioning on the issues. I'm basing that on her past performance.
