I thought this was a good article on the whole. I was pretty surprised that methane was only mentioned once, and that even as an aside.
Methane is 2nd on the list of greenhouse gases. (2nd to CO2) One of the largest contributors to greenhouse gases, other than the US, is India. (they worship cows) Efforts to collect methane and use it for fuel have been successful. When methane is burned, guess what's emmitted? That's right, CO2.

Soybeans have been a crucial crop in crop rotation for thousands of years. They return nitrogen to the soil which is crucial for crop production. In other words, when the soil's messed up from other crops, they plant soybeans to help put nitrogen back in the soil and make it useable again. My father and grandfather, who were farmers, swore by it. It is very close to being a miracle crop.

Finally, I drink both soy milk and regular milk. They both taste good. However, given the fact that methane is 2nd on the list for greenhouse gases, and soybeans have been used for nitrogen rich crop rotation for thousands of years at the benefit of the environment and people, soy wins.
