If I recall correctly, Boeing ruled out a non-tube air chassis in part because there's no place for passenger windows, and passengers really like windows. It may be that ever-escalating fuel costs will force airlines to abandon tube + wing designs, but passengers are going to hate it. Imagine a 7 hour flight to Europe in a windowless room. Now imagine you have even the tiniest amount of claustrophobia or fear of flying. Ick.

Just put touch screens where the windows would be and install cameras on the outside of the aircraft. You could get views from all sides.
