those "mosquito attractors" - the kind that use a tank of propane, and you set them in your back yard and they attract the mosquitos down there and kill them, so they don't come to your barbecue.

those things attract the mostquitos by turning the propane into a constant stream of C02, which attracts the mosquitos who get confused and think there's a sweaty animal which is about to provide a meal for them.

i'm not making this up. Those devices emit CO2 continuously for no good reason. Al Gore, listen up. Or do you already own one?

if you know what it means . . . .

you're right though. if i had a choice of killing mosquitos with continual C02 emissions, vs using continual pesticide spray, i'd go with the C02.

West Nile Virus, Bird Flu, and Malaria.

These devices use less than a tank of propane a year. I could understand your concern if they burned through a tank a month. But, since Grilling related CO2 emissions account for something like .0003% of US output and these devices use even less fuel than a Webber grill, I think there are bigger fish to fry in the fight against pollution....no pun intended.
