I have been involved in baseball for years. I have coached many top prospects. On any given "elite" team, there are usually 4 or 5 guys that can all play shortstop. However, there is usually one guy that has the "it" factor. He may not be quite as fast as the others, he may not have a textbook swing, but he has something that the others don't have. There is an air about him that no one questions why he is shortstop.
Those of you sitting in your lazyboys don't quite understand and are quick to judge.
Jeter has "it", like it or not. If I was asked to put together an MLB team and could have my pick of all players, Jeter would be my SS.
