Sierra Nevada is my favorite, but they simply can't afford to advertise. They serve a niche market and don't stand to increase their share significantly by buying TV time. Products like Bud and Coors advertise because the vast majority of beer drinkers in North America prefer the light lager style and there is not nearly as much to set their products apart.
I did notice that Sam Adam's runs commercials in my area. It may not be my favorite but it's hardly horse piss, either. And the ads are somewhat educational, describing the process and the various beers they offer. This approach wouldn't work for a smaller brewer who only mass-produces one or two beers.
