FRANKLY, FRANKEN'S OFFENSIVE
by garyoke
I completely lost respect for Al Franken when he did an SNL skit as a brain damaged accident victim. His head was swathed with bandages, while his former partner "interviewed" him.

The hapless victim could only twitch, sputter, and salivate.

This went on for an interminable length of time, without audience laughter.

This is a kit that most definitely made it on to the air.

Calling someone a big, fat idiot is childish.

Mocking brain injured people is disturbing.

A man who has chronically incapable of distinguishing the two actions should be kept out of congress.

You base you decision on who should be in Congress on skits on a comedy program? Seriously?

That is about as dumb as me saying that people who base their voting on comedy sketches on a variety show shouldn't vote at all.

No - not on comedy sketches. Rather on the judgement of the comedian who believed that mocking people with serious disabilities is humorous. It's no funnier than Rush Limbaugh having called Barrak "Odumbo" because of the candidate large ears. Or the popular T-shirt sold by a bar in Georgia that depicts Barrak Obama as the title character of the children's book "Curious George". ("Ahm not sayin' he's a monkey 'cause he's a negro" said the owner/seller "Ah just think there's an honest resemblance". I know - maybe Al can wear a T-shirt depicting Jewish Minnesotans as large-nosed Shylocks saying "Shia, Shmia, Sunni, Shmoonie - let's withdraw and let them all kill each other - OY!" Yea - there's a foreign policy vision that reflects both Franken's humor level, and political vision.
