Michael Kinsley's own hackwork
by DrinkYourMilkshake

Kinsley calls Sen. Norm Coleman a 'hack'. Hmm . . . Al Franken is a Jewish Ivy League show business careerist and lifelong Democrat - how refreshing! What a break from stereotypes!

By instructive contrast, Coleman (also Jewish) has supported candidates of both parties in the past, and his votes are seldom predictable. Anyone sophisticated about GOP politics knows that Coleman is not one of the party regulars' favorite Senators.

I'm sure that if elected, Franken will be very unpredictable vote. Kinsley, for all his intelligence and occasional ability to think outside the box, has had limited influence because of his robotic dislike of the Republican Party. Fair enough, but it boils down to what he criticizes - hack journalism. Coleman has been less predictable in his career than has Michael Kinsley.

Coleman only voted, what, 93% in line with the White House last year? (Compared to McCain's 99%) Yeah, I can see why the GOP faithful would find him "unpredictable".
