Bill Clinton used to employ this inane and insincere chestnut so frequently that it was OVER by the time he left office. Too bad nobody told the rest of Washington. Every %$#@!! politician running for anything has to use this construction, complete with pious, solemn expression and oodles of bogus conviction.
"That's what this election is all about." (Used interchangeably for every conceivable issue du jour.) ARRRRRGH. Health care? That's what this election is all about. Judgment? Character? That's what this election is all about. The economy? That's what this election is all about.
