separating the wheat from the chaff

There seems to be quite a few articles lately treating on online reading habits. What I've noticed is that none of the articles I've read have considered the fact that it is so easy to publish online that great resources aren't needed for ensuring quality of content. I would say these "online reading habits" quickly fade to the wayside when I come across an article or post that I find genuinely interesting and decide to invest my time in reading, regardless of length or clever formatting. Perhaps a more accurate description of this process would be "how we find material we actually want to read." Formating an article in a way that makes it easier to read online doesn't make it any more worth reading.
By the way, the formatting for this article was atrocious. I only finished reading it to see if a more comprehensive view was finally being offered on the subject. Too bad there wasn't.
