I wasn't going to mention this hopelessly worn-out cliché because I thought it was deader than a, um, doornail, but then I heard somebody on NPR actually use it today in reference to inflation in Zimbabwe, where a loaf of bread apparently now costs 30 billion dollars. That's billion with a... oh never mind...
