That's why they're called "drugs".
by Scoot'r-d
When formulated to have a particular effect upon the body these chemicals are devised specifically to have that impact. If they did not make their intended changes to and upon the body then they would be of no medicinal value. They are powerful. They are powerful in their ability to cure, to control pain or anxiety. They are powerful enough to kill if not used correctly under medical direction.

That some people obtain these same drugs and recklessly employ them for recreational pleasures is akin to using gasoline to keep your homes fireplace going. They are toying with things they do not understand and using them for unintended purposes. Their therapeutic indices are tossed aside in favor of seeking altered mental states. That alone is using these powerful drugs well outside of their safe applications. Make a mistake and you die. It should be of no mystery and no surprise. Expect it.

There is no comparison to any illegal drug manufactured or natural. Street drugs are not controlled. They can be extremely weak or far too strong. You get what you get and you take you chances.

That no deaths can be directly attributed to cannabis is noteworthy for its inherent wide psychoactive safety margin. Yet, one wonders how many auto deaths might not be related to inopportune operating under the influence of the drug. But street marijuana is not comparable to Xanax. It has not been studied or formulated for strength and desired action. There are no medicinal guidelines for its application. That it can be so safely used in such uncontrolled ways says that it would make a very safe medicine and maybe someday it will be.

yeth, I agree. If only I had access to some weed, I wouldn't be zonkered on alcohol, which is ruining my liver. But the government says it is OK, so cheers. Will Bush bomb Iran before he leaves office? Or stage another "terrorist" attack on US soil? Lotta questions. Perhaps they will "find" Bin Laden for an October surprise!@ Sounds good to me. Ok then. Watch the TV, don't worry about the million killed in Iraq for oil, bases, and suspension of the constitution. It's all good. Gotta go. Need to blend marti-gai-rita. Ok then. burp

one wonders how many auto deaths are related to inopportune bees flying into the car through an open window(i really freak out when this happens)...but bees aren't banned. it is high time (pardon the pun) for marijana to be legalized..think of the tax revenue!!!!
