I've tried to respect Hitchens. I've tried to like him. But I can't. His writings, what I've read, are essentially blog rants. He latches onto a minor topic like church and chews on it with the slavish rabidity of Fox News. People mention it, the media endlessly replayed it, but spare me. Every church doctrine has a chosen people and how could someone run for high office without being a Christian?

It bears pointing out that his father was an apostate of the Muslim religion, and an atheist after. Considering his professions, Hitchens might be interested in a candidate whose father gave a son that example.
