Did the Enron board of directors have a party leaning? I don't know if you can put the destruction or meltdown of a company at the feet of the political party in charge.

I tend to believe that, yes, it could be better access to the halls of power, but also it is general perception overall. If a company is linked to a political party who just got the reins of power, then the supporters of that company are more likely to invest in that company over one seen linked to the opposition party. So people see an opportunity to make a solid investment that has a good chance to payoff and that accounts for the increase in value of that company.
