Not even a mention of fullerenes?
by hyperionred
Great article, but how can you discuss Fuller's "legacy today" without noting the fullerenes - a (relatively) newly discovered elemental form of carbon encompassing "buckyballs", carbon nanotubes, and ultrapure graphite sheets? Surely the fact that the very act of assembling something from hexagons is forever linked with his name is worth mentioning.

True enough, but since bucky balls were given their name after Buckminister Fuller died, it's a toss-up as whether or not the name was truly a part of his legacy.
