I just wanted to say thank you for posting this article. I started working at a daycare while going to college at 18 and two years later i'm still working there. I love my job and the toddlers I help take care of. So many people ask where I work and when I say at a day care I get the response, "Thats such an easy job, you just play with kids" this is so frusturating!! It is a very touch job and we don't "just play with kids". We change diapers, feed, potty train, teach right and wrong and that hitting/bitting is not the answer, sharing, 'please and thank you', wash hands, creativity, problem solving and so much more. It is a very exhausting job with low pay but at the same time it is very rewarding job.
