Enjoyed the article but for one glaring problem, total misuse of " thrown under the bus". Per the Urban Dictionary, to throw one under the bus is: to sacrifice some other person, usually one who is undeserving or at least vulnerable, to make personal gain.
There are other definitions but they all refer to the undeserving or surprise element to the subject being "thrown". Rosenbaum should have left it at "beyond its sell date" since his whole point it that there expressions are deserving of being retired.
