Case isn't made

I think the author is a little too transparent here. His direct and bad personal experience working in Equatorial New Guinea has colored his objectivity. Furthermore, the guy has been in office since 1990 and he primarily refers to how he came to power as being offensive. I don't disagree that this dictator is slime, and I don't doubt that our government extends favoritism to nations that supply us with what we need. But, the sheer violence and hard arm tactics that Mugabe has practiced for decades is far worse in my estimation. Much more, there is no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't hesitate in assassinating his rival for the presidency, and so apparently does his rival think as he gave up his quest for the presidency out of fear for his life. Mugabe only cares about remaining in power. The question is would he steal from the treasury if they had anything to steal? In a heartbeat! Both dictators are slime, but they aren't alone. Africa countries are primarily run by dictators, who will not leave office except in a body bag. A number of them conduct elections, but they are a sham. I don't know that Mugabe would be any worse than any other dictator if it wasn't for the fact that the people are so desperately poor. They have no natural resources. I hardly think Sudan is run by a kind and caring government. Why isn't the slaughter in Darfur not worthy of note here. Perhaps its because this administration has denounced that regime. So therefore, not worthy of mention. This is a political hit piece, plain and simple.
