Another useless article from Slate

Why do we expect our presidents to be NICE? Good grief! If nothing else, being "nice" is part of being civilized! OF COURSE it's something we look for in a president - our leader should be a diplomat who can deal with all kinds of people - and being "nice" is just a basic prerequisite!

But then, anyone who makes a statement like the following doesn't get it at all!!!!

"I'm convinced George W. Bush became president in part because he seemed nice—refreshingly inarticulate, just like the rest of us—even though his former associates often admit that he isn't nice at all."

I found GWB to be an arrogant idiot from the beginning... there was nothing "refreshing" about him - ever! And "nice" is the last word I would ever associate with him.
