What are you thinking!
by Tarac

Dear Emily,

I really enjoyed your article and thoughts about day care. However, I'm not sure what the other readers are thinking. I cannot believe that it would even occur to anyone that a day care worker should have credentials on a piece of paper! What other credenitals should they have? Would the title child psycholigist, president and ceo, magician, musician, nutritionist, scheduler, public relations director, administrative assistant, not to mention the world's greatest multi - tasker. . . . I could go on and on. The degree (even a masters) could not give enough classes or training to keep up with what these incredible women do. The skills and credentials of these patient, caring and loving women are very noticable and admirable. Also, Please stop assuming that these women are under educated. Many states require training and education for these positions. Any one can get a degree or more training, but it does not necessarily make you better at your job. Remember one thing, a lot of these women are doing this job because they love children. It is like any other job, a means to a way - for everyone- parent/child, employer, employee.

Tara,

Ohio
