Octopuses vs octopi?
by billie727

I was always taught in school that the correct plural form of octopus is octopi, but is octopuses also acceptable, as Mr. Zimmer and his editors believe?

As a Canadian, I am unsure if maybe it is just the American spelling.

I learned that myself in school (in America). I'm pretty sure it's octopi, but maybe they know something we don't.

"insite"? Insight.

And screw it, I always liked octopodes. Greek root, Greek plural!
