The punctuation of bold print and blue hyperlinks throughout the article prevented the smooth flow I am used to in my reading. It was so aggitating to have my eye drawn here and there while trying to finish a sentence that after the first two in the first real paragraph, I began scanning for key words in between all the "attention getters." I do not even know if I caught the real message of the article.
Perhaps I am odd, but I usually read the articles about subjects that I am interested in all the way through, scrolling or not. A well-written article is what keeps me reading. If Internet writers begin using the tips presented in the beginning of the article, I may as well go back to newspapers and magazines.
