A New Mission:Impossible?
by lucabrasi

Now that Tommy Boy is dropped out completely, here's an idea:

How about a movie like the old show? About a TEAM of evenly weighted experts (master of disguise, electronics wiz, strongman, femme fatale, leader) rather than a Tom Cruise vanity production. Yeah he had guys like Jean Reno and Ving Rhames, but they were "supplemental." Ving just seemed to be used to drop Tom off and pick Tom off in his helicopter.

And, oh: bring back the kick-ass theme song and flash-cut opening sequence. After the first "Mission:Impossible" movie effectively used that opening from the old TV show, it was downplayed to nothingness in the sequels.

Just a thought. Or two.

A good TEAM Mission:Impossible I would go and see. Tom Cruise's ego was just off-putting in the last movie.

I guess all the money he has paid and given to L. Ron Hubbard's Scientology which was supposed to give him super powers didn't get him better judgement and acting ability.

Absolutely!

I never did watch the movie because there wasn't a team (no Cinnamon?!). Caught a re-run of the TV show and was impressed, even after being rather jaded by modern special effects. Good stuff.

And Tom Cruise is an ass.

Only if we get those ridiculous mask machines. I think they copped that plot device from scooby doo.
