Saarinen's "Yale Whale"

While Dulles may be an awful airport to use (and was so even before the added security of 9/11), his hockey rink at Yale is a fantastic place to watch a game. Ingalls Rink, a.k.a. the "Yale Whale," has a soaring roof, great sightlines, and loud acoustics. It was always a pleasure to scream one's head off there! Far more fun than the generic boxes that typify such arenas.

Perhaps Dulles was, but not in the earlier years after its construction and within the reasonably foreseeable period of usage. They say that the Taj Mahal is not well-adapted to its current use, as a tourist attraction.
